1. Tell us a little about you and your shop:
I live in Wisconsin with my son, daughter, and husband of 5 years. I also have a step son who stay with us on the weekends. I've been a stay at home mom for the past 4 years. I opened my original Etsy shop about a year ago http://www.glitterstar.etsy.com/. I decided I had a few too many different items in it. I wanted to put my clothing items in their own place. I put a poll on my blog to help pick a new name and GlitterStitch was the winner. I'm just getting started with this new shop. I hope to add a lot more to it in the future.

2. Are you a full time crafter? What else do you do?
Yes I am a full time crafter. I don't always have time to do it though. I spend most of my day taking care of my kids and cleaning. The usual.

3. What is your favorite item in your shop?
My favorite item in my shop is my "Blow Me" shirt. I don't know why but I find it funny. I also have a strange sense of humor.

4. How did you get into this business?
I've always been into art and design. I took pretty much every art class I could in school. I went to a two year tech after high school and got my associate in graphic design. A couple years ago my husband was sent to Iraq and I needed something to keep my mind off of it. I bought my first sewing machine and taught myself how to sew. When he left our son was 18 months old. I quit my job so I could be with him full time. Four years later I haven't went back into the work force. Part of me thinks I should, but I really don't want too.

5. Anything new and exciting we should look for?
I plan on adding handmade clothes within the next few weeks.

6. Do you have a blog or website you would like to share?
I have my original shop at http://glitterstar.etsy.com/

Featured Etsy Seller of the Week~Kookyhandbags

Check out her cute shop!
1. Tell us a little about you and your shop:
I live in Whitby, just east of Toronto, with my wonderful guy, two cats and a beagle named Miss Lulu Belle. I'm a very crafty girl since junior high, I've been making stuff, including handbags which are my main interest, but I also enjoy making jewelry, pillows and just recently plush toys. Oh, and I adore drinking tea and coffee and baked goods, and the beach.
2. Are you a full time crafter? What else do you do?
I would classify myself as a full-time crafter since I no longer work in the real world so to speak. I am fortunate enough not to have to, so I can devote my time to creating things. I also like to walk my dog and read newspapers and magazines, and beautiful interior design books from the library in my sunroom.
3. What is your favorite item in your shop?
My favorite item is perhaps, My patchwork bag, which is make from an old 60's or 70's quilt. It's my Becky bag, named from 'Rebecca of SunnyBrook Farm'.
4. How did you get into this business?
About 10 years ago, I got a handbag pattern, and sewed it up, and shortly afterward, people and my family and friends asked about it, which got me behind the sewing machine alot more. I've always sewed my own cushions, and I used to sew in College, where I participated in making clothes for fashion shows.
5. Anything new and exciting we should look for?
Right this moment, I am into making lavender mini pillows with beautiful fabric. I am working on the patterns of animal shaped pillows too. Their in my other shop on Etsy, talkofthetown. But I will also be working on some more bags with a new pattern I found. It's a shoulder bag where the handle flows into the main bag.
6. Do you have a blog or website you would like to share?
I used to have a website but I gave up on it but I have a blog which is nearly 2 years old. I love visits from folks and comments. The addy is http://kookyhandbags.blogspot.com/

Oh yeah, this one is a yummy one! I saw her items and decided to tempt you all! I cannot wait to try some of her creations myself! ENJOY!

1. Tell us a little bit about you and your shop:
My name is Lacie; I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart Shawn for 8 years. We have 3 beautiful boys: Tyler is 7 and was born with Down syndrome, Carson is 2 and Jordan is 8 months old. No more kids for my, odds off having a girl would be slim to none and I’m way out numbered now as it is. I live in sunny Florida on the west coast in Bonita Springs.

2. Are you a full time crafter? What else do you do?
I’m a full time mom and part time baker who is dreaming of the day I can do this full time. I decorate cakes as well as my other baking. I spend a lot of time with my extended family; we are a close knit group. My other hobbies include: scrapbooking, reading and making baby items. My sister and I are in the process of building up stock for our joint Etsy shop Two Sisters Tutu http://www.twosisterstutu.etsy.com/ we will be selling Baby Leggies, tutus (my outlet for grisliness since I only have boys) and other baby and children items.

3. What is your favorite item in your shop?
My absolute favorite item would be my homemade marshmallow smores; you have not tried a marshmallow until you have had homemade, yummy!

4. How did you get into this business?
I started out at a young age loving baking, that has blossomed over the years as I started tweaking recopies to make them tastier. When I started having children I ran into the same problem all parents do, seeing the same few character cakes at all the parties. I wanted something different for my sons so I took up cake decorating, I’m self thought. That also blossomed into hand decorated cookies.

5. Anything new and exciting we should look for?
I have lots of stuff I make that I haven’t had the time or the pics to get them on my Etsy shop but soon I will be listing fresh fruit puree flavored marshmallows and other flavors, more cookie and brownie options and a top secret idea I have been working on for a while :p

New Team and some News

I just got accepted onto a new awesome etsy team! They are the Etsy Angels Team and they do good work, such as donating to charities and such. I was on a waiting list to get into this wonderful group! So far, I have had nothing but warm welcomes from all the ladies! We are doing a charity run soon, so I will keep you posted!

Search eangteam to see some of the great items these ladies make! There are sock monkeys, crochet items, jewelry, baby items and some yummy soaps and lotions I have my eye on! I am just really happy to be part of a group like this.

For anyone who does not know, I am getting married on 10/04/08. We are donating supplies and cash to the Michigan Humane Society in honor of Fred and Tiffany. I think helping out this charity, which is really struggling right now, is much better than a favor that you will most likely take home and throw away! My animals are so important to me. I plan on posting a list of the supplies to see if anyone has anything they would like to donate, but it has to be closer to the wedding. Their request list changes on a quarterly basis. So, anyhow, the pictures at the top are of me and my finace Dave and Fred and Tiffany. Thanks for reading! Check out the etsy angels team items too!
